Short answer: A Ticketmaster ticket transfer in Canada moves the actual tickets from the seller's account into yours. You accept it from the email or text Ticketmaster sends, and the tickets go into whichever Ticketmaster account you sign in with. Once you accept, the tickets live in your Ticketmaster app, and a screenshot of a ticket is never a substitute.

Every sale on Tickets 4 Fans ends with an official transfer like this, so it's worth knowing exactly what should happen and when. Here's the checklist we'd give a friend buying Raptors, Leafs, TFC or Tempo tickets from another fan, plus the one difference for Blue Jays games.

Which app your tickets will arrive in

Season seat holders manage their seats in their team's Account Manager, which you sign in to with a Ticketmaster login. When a seller transfers tickets to you, this is where they land:

    TeamVenueWhere the transfer lands
Toronto RaptorsScotiabank ArenaYour Ticketmaster account. Also visible in the Raptors app when you sign in with that same account
Toronto Maple LeafsScotiabank ArenaYour Ticketmaster account
    Toronto FCBMO FieldYour Ticketmaster account
    Toronto TempoCoca-Cola ColiseumYour Ticketmaster account
Toronto Blue JaysRogers CentreThe MLB Ballpark app, signed in to your MLB account

Tickets at Scotiabank Arena, BMO Field and Coca-Cola Coliseum are scanned from your phone, so accept the transfer before you head to the game. If something goes wrong on game day, the venue ticket office opens three hours before the start.

Before you pay: the three checks

    1. Ask for proof the seller holds the seats. The right proof is a screenshot from their team Account Manager (or, occasionally, their Ticketmaster account), showing the game, section, row and seat numbers, with the date and time visible on their screen. That's the same check we run when we verify a seller. It proves they have the tickets; it isn't the ticket.
    2. Agree on the email address for the transfer. Give the seller an email address you check. The transfer arrives there, and when you tap Accept you'll be asked to sign in: the tickets go to whichever Ticketmaster account you sign in with (or your MLB account, for Blue Jays games). So sign in with the account you'll use on game day. If you don't have one yet, create a free one first.
    3. Agree on when the transfer happens. On Tickets 4 Fans, you pay the seller by Interac e-Transfer and they usually send the tickets once they confirm payment. Settle the timing in your WhatsApp thread, so you both have it in writing.

Accepting a Ticketmaster transfer, step by step

    1. Open the email or text from Ticketmaster saying tickets have been sent to you, and tap Accept Tickets.
    2. Sign in when asked. The tickets go into whichever Ticketmaster account you sign in with, so use the one you'll open on game day.
    3. Check that the tickets now show in your account with the right game, section, row and seats.
    4. Tell the seller you've accepted, in the same WhatsApp thread.

Transfers to you cost nothing to accept. The price you agreed with the seller is the whole price.

Accepting a Blue Jays transfer in the MLB Ballpark app

Blue Jays tickets move through the MLB Ballpark app rather than Ticketmaster. Season ticket members send them from Blue Jays Account Manager or the app. Download the app and sign in to your MLB account before you open the transfer link. Then open the email or text the seller's transfer generates and tap the link to access the tickets. If you were already signed in, they usually land in your account automatically. Pull down to refresh the Tickets screen if you don't see them right away.

    Once they're in your account

    • Don't screenshot your ticket and plan to use that. Ticketmaster's SafeTix barcodes keep refreshing, so a saved image won't scan at the gate.
    • Add the tickets to your phone's wallet if the app offers it. That helps when the arena's mobile signal is overloaded at the doors.
    • Going with someone? You can forward their ticket to their own account the same way, so you don't have to enter together.
    • Charge your phone. At a fully mobile venue, your phone is your ticket.

If the transfer doesn't show up

    • Check the email first. Make sure the seller sent it to an address you check, and look in your junk or promotions folder. If you already tapped Accept, the tickets are in whichever Ticketmaster account you signed in with, so check that one.
    • Turn off your VPN (and iCloud Private Relay or any proxy) before accepting. Ticketmaster lists these as a common cause of failed accepts.
    • Use one device and one browser tab. Being signed in on several at once, or on public Wi-Fi, can cause errors. Clearing cookies and trying again often fixes it.
    • Ask the seller to cancel and resend. A seller can cancel a transfer that hasn't been accepted yet and send it again. Once you accept, they can no longer pull the tickets back, which is exactly the protection you want.
    • Still stuck? Contact Ticketmaster Fan Support, and tell us. A failed transfer can often be re-sent, and the earlier we hear, the more we can help.

What we do and don't do

Tickets 4 Fans verifies every seller as a season seat holder and guides every sale through an official transfer. We are not an escrow service: you pay the seller directly by Interac e-Transfer, and we never hold your money. If a transfer goes wrong, we press the seller, escalate through the ticket issuer, and remove the verification of a seller who doesn't deliver. Our Buyer Protection page sets out exactly what we can and can't do.

Keep your WhatsApp thread and your e-Transfer receipt until you're through the gate. If we ever need to escalate, that record is what we work from. And if you're wondering how all this fits together, here's how buying on Tickets 4 Fans works, and why fans trust it.

    FAQ

Does it cost anything to accept a Ticketmaster transfer?

No. Accepting tickets someone transfers to you is free. On Tickets 4 Fans, the price you agree with the seller is the full price, with no buyer fees.

Why can't I find the tickets the seller sent me?

Usually the transfer email is sitting in your junk or promotions folder, or you accepted it while signed in to a different Ticketmaster account, so the tickets are in that one. If the email never arrived, check the address with the seller and ask them to cancel and resend.

Can the seller take the tickets back after I accept them?

No. A seller can only cancel a transfer that hasn't been accepted. Once you accept, the tickets are in your account.

Will a screenshot of my ticket work at Scotiabank Arena?

No. Ticketmaster's mobile tickets use a barcode that keeps refreshing, so a screenshot won't scan. Show the ticket in the Ticketmaster app or your phone's wallet.

Are Blue Jays tickets transferred through Ticketmaster?

No. Season ticket members send them from Blue Jays Account Manager or the MLB Ballpark app, and you receive them in MLB Ballpark. Sign in to your MLB account first, then open the transfer link the seller sends.

How early should the seller transfer the tickets?

As soon as payment is confirmed, so you have time to accept and fix any problem before game day. If the game is tonight, accept the transfer before you leave home.
